1 Month Down

Hello Friends!

I wanted to get this out to you a few days ago, but my plan for the week definitely didn't go as I wanted.  Shocker, I know!  Summer break can be stressful in so many different ways and I have so many thoughts and ideas I want to share with you, so my apologies that I am all over the board.  In my last post, I said that I wanted to be more in the moment & enjoy the time with the boys this summer.  Well, as I look back on June, I can't say that I lived up to that.  Instead of beating myself up about it, July is a new month & we will start with a clean slate.  My family does much better with routine, does yours?  Well, maybe it's just me who really thrives on it.  Anxiety levels go through the roof when the summer is all willy nilly!  Do you ever feel that when it rains it pours & you just can't catch a break.  I came across this quote and it not only resignated with me, but probably a lot of you as well.

We did have some huge wins in June.  After 4 weeks, Jonathan got his cast off & was cleared to play baseball again!!!  His team won the tournament last weekend and he was so happy that he was able to be a part of it.  On the flip side, on the last day of the tournament, Jack took a line drive to the head(right above the eye) as he was helping shag balls for Jonathan's team.  Off to Urgent Care to get stitches.  I have high really hopes for July people!!!

Are you all excited for the 4th???  Big plans?  Do you take the whole week off seeing that it falls on a Wednesday?  We don't have any plans right now as the hubby has to work all week.  I'm sure we will get some pool time in though as the temps are going to be steamy.  I wanted to share with you a really fun recipe that is always a huge hit & it's very festive too.  If you try it, please let me know.

Fruit Fluff

12 oz. Cool Whip

1 instant vanilla pudding

1 can crushed pineapple(drained really good)

3 cups fresh berries(I use blueberries, strawberries & raspberries)

Directions: Mix cool whip and instant pudding together.  Add drained pineapple and mix.  Add fruit and mix lightly.  Refrigerate until ready to serve.  Enjoy!

To round out this post, I can't leave out the Ellen top which is perfect for the 4th.  It just got re-stocked in both Navy & Red(has a pink tone to it).  Sorry about the stock photo of the red, it arrived yesterday & didn't have time to shoot it.  Click on the picture & it will take you right to the website.

Have a Safe & Happy Holiday!

  • I make a similar salad that uses mandarin oranges with the pineapple and you add crushed fudge striped cookies. The cookies get the kids to eat it! Have a nice 4th Marci.
